Our district is just one among the 532 Rotary districts around the world committed to alleviating poverty, building peace and goodwill, eradicating Polio and Making Dreams Real for the world’s children by curbing infant mortality through water, health and hunger and literacy projects. Thus far into our time of serving together, I have roamed the district and I have been to feeding programs, to book donations, to medical and dental missions, to projects that provide communities access to safe drinking water. I am thoroughly impressed by the dedication of our Rotarians to our motto “Service Above Self.”

I am overcome with pride and joy to see the outpouring of love to the Lupang Pangako (Land of the Promise) Health Center in Payatas, Quezon City. This super health center is co-run by our district with the Quezon City health officials. Indeed, it is living up to its name because it is a very promising project for the Payatas Community. Another promising endeavor is the Rotary International Village soon to be launched in San Mateo, Rizal intended to shelter about 800 informal-settler families. This is another project in collaboration with the Quezon City government. We hope that pledges to donate houses will soon pour in.

Our district is also committed to an Anti-Dengue Campaign to address the recent outbreak of dengue in the city which claimed the lives of many Filipinos. Our district is indeed abuzz with activity. Through this website, we would like you to witness our progress and hope that you will be prompted to contribute to all of our worthy endeavors and participate in all of our exciting events.

On March 2009, our Annual District Conference will be held at the Manila Hotel. Early-bird registration on discounted rates will be available until January 20, 2009. Please register and be sure to participate in the enriching experience of Rotary forums, banquets and other activities that make one realize how worthwhile it is to be a Rotarian.
