4. KAPAKI-PAKINABANG ba ito para sa lahat?

D3780 Launches CATS

The first ever Club Administration Training Seminar

CATS

RI District 3780 successfully launched the very first Club Administration Training Seminar (CATS) last July 11, 2009 at the 2nd floor of the Dolcelatte at Quezon Ave, Quezon City. A total of 55 clubs sent a delegation to the seminar. It is the very first of its kind in the district and probably in the whole Rotary world. A total of 170 Rotarians attended the seminar, which focused on club administration. Club presidents, secretaries, treasurers, club administration committee chairs and members, as well as, presidents-elect and presidents-nominee joined the delegations.

DG Dulce Coyukiat intentionally scheduled the early holding of CATS to emphasize the role of club administration in the realization of the 2009-2010 RI Theme, "The Future of Rotary is in Your Hands."

CATS is the brainchild of the district's Club Administration Committee, chaired by PP Louie Pangulayan of RC San Francisco del Monte (SFDM) and co-chaired by PP Winston Sia of RC Talipapa. PP Butch Javier, also of RC SFDM, serves as adviser to the committee.

Seven Rotary clubs were handpicked by DG Dulce to host CATS 2009, with RC SFDM headed by "Hands-on" President Mar Reyes as the lead club. The co-hosts of the event were RC Talipapa headed by Pres. Teng Villareal, RC Cubao South headed by Pres. Jun Marquez, RC San Bartolome headed by Pres. Fe Canton, RC Midtown Quezon City headed by Pres. Cesar Concio, RC Kamuning West headed by Pres. Chito Ferrer and RC Commonwealth headed by Pres. Ernie Paranis.

The district's Committee on Club Administration customized three special modules for CATS 2009, which focused on three topics: "What is Club Administration?" "Who are Involved in Club Administration?" and "How Do We Undertake Club Administration?" To ensure success of the seminar, DG Dulce picked three of the best minds in Philippine Rotary to talk on relevant topics. PDG Jimmy Cura of D3830 spoke on "The Concept of Club Administration," PDG Willy Segovia also of D3830 touched on "The Officers Responsible for Club Administration," and our very own DGE Ambo Gancayco tackled the topic, "The Methods of Club Administration." Each discussion was followed by an open forum.

The seminar promptly started at 2:00 PM and ended at 5:30 PM. Certificates of Participation were given to the participants by DG Dulce, ably assisted by DS Jose Baradi and COS Mar Cancio. Each participant was also given a CD containing all pertinent files and templates for club administration.

The day's activity was followed by a fellowship cocktail party where Rotarians were treated to food, wine, and "lechon." Music for dancing was provided by Allan Matas of the Disneyland Caribbean Cruise Entertainment. Ballroom dancing and singing lasted until late in the evening. To add excitement to the party, special raffle prizes were provided by CITIBEDS, Subic Mansions, and Cabman.
