Awards and Recognitions
Adamson University
He is a recipient of the school’s most prestigious and highest award, the Adamsonian Award, as one of the 75 Most Outstanding Graduates in the University's entire history. It was given during Adamson's diamond jubilee celebration in February 2007. In 2005, Alex was honored as one of Adamson University Alumni Association's Ten Outstanding Alumni.
Municipality of San Pablo, Isabela
Alex was awarded as Most Outstanding Engineer and Employer during the municipality's 301st founding anniversary celebration in 1997.
Lyceum of Cabagan, Isabela
At an early age, Alex was already a leader, as evidenced by his receiving the Jerry Roxas Leadership Award in 1976.

Other involvements, activities and hobbies
Presently, Alex serves as board director of “A Better Chance Foundation” (ABC Foundation), an NGO involved with thousands of high school scholars. The foundation also serves the other needs of the youth through dental and eye care services and value formation activities.
He is a life member of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers, a member of the Subic Bay Yacht Club, and was a president and director for three years of the Don Antonio Royale Estates Subdivision in Quezon City.
As an avid golfer, he participated in the Rotary World Golf Championship organized by the International Golfing Fellowship of Rotarians (IGFR) held in Manila in March 2007 where he won the partner's champion under the fellowship division. He chaired the District Golf Tournaments in RY 2005-2006 and was instrumental in coming up with the District Golf Tournament Rule Book.
In 2001, after playing golf for only eight months, he made a hole-in-one at the Capitol Golf Club's hole number 13. His golf home course is Forest Hills Golf and Country Club, Antipolo City. Aside from golf, he also plays basketball and tenpin bowling, for which he is a member of the RC Diliman Bowling & Basketball Team.

His Personal Traits and Character
Alex is a friend who is easy to get along with, very affable, and caring. Known for his dedication and determination to accomplish all of his assigned tasks, Alex is considered a “can do” guy. He is also known to perform more and talk less. He strongly advocates good values, hard work, and a strong determination in attaining success. In addition, he firmly believes that a good leader should always lead by example.
